At GSCC, uplifting praise and worship is an important and life-giving part of our worship services. As the people of God, we have much to be excited about and thankful for! When we honor God with our heartfelt praise and worship, we celebrate who He is and all that He's done for us. Our desire is that praise and worship at GSCC is heartfelt, sincere, and passionate. As we worship the Lord with all of our heart, His presence brings hope, peace, courage, and victory to our lives. “For God is great, and is greatly to be praised!” (Psalm 96:4)
Praise and worship is so much more than just music or songs. It’s a lifestyle of honoring God and making Him first in our lives. However, corporate praise and worship is a very important part of a lifestyle of worship. When we gather together, it’s an opportunity for us to place our focus and attention on God instead of on our circumstances. It’s an opportunity to give God thanks for all He has done and promised to do. It’s an opportunity for us to be strengthened in our faith – as we sing and declare who God is and what He has done, we are reminded about His great love and everlasting faithfulness to us!
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:4-5)
“But you are holy, O you that inhabit the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3)
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!” (Psalm 150)
