The Pond Newborn - Kindergarten

GSCC has HUGE heart for children of all ages. It is our desire to come alongside families to encourage children in developing a personal relationship with God at an early age, serving as a strong foundation for their lives.

The Pond is open during all of our regular adult services for children from newborn through kindergarten. Our classrooms open 15 minutes prior to the start of each service.

  • Turtle Room- newborn to walking
  • Duck Room- walking to 24 months
  • Butterfly Room- 2 years old
  • Flamingo Room- 3 years old
  • Frog Room- 4 years old
  • Gator Room- 5 years old through kindergarten

Our Early Childhood Ministry is exciting and inviting! Children thrive in a safe, fun environment designed for their specific age group. GSCC believes in ministering to the needs of children at every age! Rest assured while parents enjoy the adult services, children are being cared for and taught by our qualified staff and servant leaders in an environment created just for them.

Newborn – 23 months Our little ones are being ministered to through praise and worship, Bible verses spoken over them and plenty of love in a safe, nurturing environment as parents attend the adult services. Babies are never too young to have God’s Word spoken over them and encouraging praise and worship surrounding them.

Age 2 - Kindergarten  Preschoolers love to learn so we provide interactive, hands-on learning where children can experience God’s love through His Word, prayer, praise and worship, friendships and encouragement from our qualified staff and servant leaders.

Each week, our friendly, fun-loving teachers guide children through interactive Bible stories, exciting activities, tasty snacks and a time for fun in our amazing indoor play park.

As we come alongside families to help children learn more about God, it is our hope that your child will learn:

    God LOVES me.

    God MADE me

Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever.

Your Child is Safe and Secure! We use a security sticker check-in system. Parents are issued a two-part security sticker. Parents receive a portion of that sticker and are required to return it when they pick up their child.

Please let our check-in leader know if your child has any food allergies. This information will print directly on your child’s nametag. Also notify your child’s teacher.

Parents are asked not to enter the classrooms as a safety and health precaution for all children.

All of our servant leaders are screened by a thorough background check and carefully selected and approved by our pastoral staff. We consider it a privilege to care for your children and do not take lightly that responsibility.

The Pond is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit. Servant Leaders that have been CPR trained and certified are present during every service. Our nursery classrooms are equipped with evacuation cribs. Medications will not be administered by our staff.

Nursing Mothers, we provide a nursing area for your privacy. One of our servant leaders will be happy to help you locate the nursing area.

Babies will be fed pre-measured formula, milk, or juice as provided only by the parent. Toddlers will be provided with a snack.

Thank you for keeping the Pond healthy! Please do not bring children that have fever, severe cough/cold, vomitting, diarrhea, unknown rash, or red or watery eyes with yellow discharge. Children must be symptom free for 24 hours before joining us in the Pond. If you have questions concerning any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact the Children’s Ministry Director.

All toys and surfaces are disinfected after each service with a nontoxic, germicidal spray.

All crib sheets are changed and the mattress is cleaned before a baby occupies that crib.

Please label all items belonging to your child.

Please provide a change of clothing in your child’s bag in case of spills or accidents.

All children’s diapers are checked and changed at least once during each service. The changing stations are disinfected after each use and new gloves and a new disposable liner paper are used for each child. Staff and servant leaders wear latex-free gloves when changing diapers and wash their hands between each child. A “I was changed and prayed for today.” sticker is placed on the front of the child’s diaper, so parents know immediately if the child’s diaper has been changed.
